Air Conditioning Inspections

An Air Conditioning Inspection regime was introduced into UK legislation as a result of the EU’s Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD).

Businesses responsible for the operation and maintenance of air conditioning equipment are now required to ensure that systems are inspected in accordance with new legal requirements.

Key Points

* Buildings in England and Wales with air conditioning systems over 12 kW
in size require inspection.
* All Inspections must be carried out by an accredited inspector
* Inspections remain valid for 5 years
* New equipment must be inspected within 5 years of the installation date
* The inspector will make recommendations in respect of energy savings
* The inspection will review service and maintenance records
* The inspector will advise on compliance with the FGas regulations
* All air conditioning inspection reports will be lodged with Landmark
